Martin, South Dakota. \u00a0Sounds like a great place to go on vacation\u00a0right? \u00a0Well, it wasn’t vacation. \u00a0I was asked by my home church to chaperone a youth trip to Martin for a Youthworks program. \u00a0We left from church in Crystal, MN (a suburb of Minneapolis)\u00a0Sunday\u00a0morning and made a b-line for Martin. \u00a0We arrived that evening and started the program. \u00a0Our particular program consisted of three parts. \u00a0The first part was a program for the youth that the Youthworks staff provided. \u00a0Part two was service projects. \u00a0We painted houses in the community in cooperation with an Indian community organization or painted a mural with residents in the city. \u00a0The third part was to help facilitate afternoon\u00a0activities\u00a0for the children of the community and visit the nursing home. \u00a0If you have any questions about it, please feel free to ask.<\/p>\n
On the way home we stopped at Wind Cave National Park. \u00a0We toured the cave after arriving late for our scheduled time. \u00a0After the park we started driving back home. \u00a0We arrived back at almost four in the morning. \u00a0Great trip!<\/p>\n\n\n\t\t\t\t \n \n \n\t\t\t\t \n \n \n\t\t\t\t \n \n \n\t\t\t\t \n \n \n\t\t\t\t \n \n
